The Thiruvalluvar Statue is a towering monument dedicated to the legendary Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar. Located on a small island near Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari, the statue stands at 133 feet, symbolizing the 133 chapters of Thirukkural. Unveiled in 2000, the statue represents virtue, wealth, and love, the core themes of Thirukkural. Designed by sculptor V. Ganapati Sthapati, it blends Dravidian and traditional Indian architectural styles. The structure is supported by a 38-foot pedestal, signifying the 38 chapters on virtue. Visitors can reach the statue via a ferry and climb up to the viewing area. The monument stands as a tribute to Tamil literature and cultural heritage. Surrounded by the vast ocean, it offers a breathtaking view, especially during sunrise and sunset. The statue is an iconic landmark in Tamil Nadu, drawing tourists and scholars alike.
